Renovation Guide HQ currently contains no affiliate links. If you buy through a link on our site today, we earn nothing from it. Every outbound link on the site right now is a plain reference link to a retailer, manufacturer, or data source, included because it is useful — not because it pays us.
If we add affiliate links in the future — for example, to retailers like Amazon or The Home Depot — we will clearly label them wherever they appear, and this page will be updated to list every active affiliate program we participate in. An affiliate link is a special URL that tells the retailer a visitor came from our site; if that visitor makes a purchase, the retailer may pay us a small commission. That commission is paid by the retailer and never changes the price you pay.
When affiliate links exist on a page, the disclosure will appear on that page itself — near the top or next to the links — not just here. We would rather over-disclose than under-disclose: if a reasonable reader could wonder whether we are compensated for a recommendation, we will say so explicitly and in plain language.
Our cost figures come from published industry data (Angi/HomeAdvisor, Remodeling Magazine’s Cost vs. Value Report, the Bureau of Labor Statistics) — never from sponsors.
Affiliate relationships will never determine our rankings, recommendations, or price ranges. If a product costs more, we say so. If a cheaper option does the same job, we say that too.
We only recommend products we believe are genuinely relevant to the project at hand. A product earns its place in a guide by being useful for the job — not by offering a commission.
